Lost in Amsterdam
Pim de la Parra / NL, 1988 / 115 min.
Superb plot twists, gorgeous women and a gritty city backdrop are the hallmarks of this film noir pastiche by De la Parra. Lost in Amsterdam – about the search for missing photographer Max, complete with descents into the coke-ridden underworld – was shot in eleven days on a budget of less than 75,000 guilders. A remarkably inspired role by Orkater actor Ralph Wingens as Mr. Johnny and the New York-Amsterdam psychiatrist Ira Goldwasser as private eye Scotty. With an introduction by Pim de la Parra and producer Fransjoris de Graaf.
