Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro
Hayao Miyazaki / JP, 1979 / 102 min.
The debut film of Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, The Boy and The Heron) is finally being screened again. In honour of its 45th anniversary, the anime classic Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979) has been restored in 4K.

In the twilight of his career, master criminal Lupin III’s final and biggest heist goes awry. The money in the bags taken from a national casino prove to all be expert counterfeits. Together with his gang member Jigen, Lupin departs for the remote European country of Cagliostro to exact revenge. Things don’t go according to plan: the two encounter Clarisse, a princess in need, who is being forced to marry the sinister Count Cagliostro against her will.
