During this family workshop – preceded by an exciting selection of four short animations from Eye’s collection – you make your own flipbook.
On the shortest day of the year, December 21, we celebrate Short Film Day. With a special film program we treat children from the age of four to the best short films from Europe. Strange creatures and weird animals in all shapes and sizes can be found in these films!

Hidden Talent (Miran Miošić, HR 2013, 6’)
Feline City has a cheerful, sociable and songful small cat, Bjelobrk, but his musical "meow" is terror for those around him because he can't sing. His family and school teacher try to explain this to him.
Weasel (Timon Leder, SI 2016, 12’)
A hungry Weasel attacks a flock of birds living on a last standing tree. The flock in the treetop is trying to keep the tree in balance, while persistent Weasel tries to climb up its trunk. Fragile balance of the tree is in danger and Weasel’s stomach gets louder. It mana ges to climb into a trunk and induces panic and fear in the treetop. But then catastrophe turns to something completely unexpected.
O Cágado (Luís da Matta Almeida & Pedro Lino, PT/GB 2012, 10’)
There was once a man quite sure of himself. Once a day he would have a stroll near his town. On one such occasion, he saw something he had never seen before: a tortoise. He examined it thoroughly, noticing its every detail; soon he ran home to tell the family. But would anyone believe him?
Cat Lake City (Antje Heyn, DE 2019, 7’)
Percy Cat is looking forward to a relaxing day in Cat Lake City– the cats' vacation paradise. But the place is not as expected. Not even the spot on the towel is as safe as he thought…
Flipboekje maken (30’)
After the films, you can make a flipbook in the cinema. This is a booklet of small drawings that change very little from page to page, yet create an animation effect when you rapidly flip through the pages. In other words, this flipbook is your own brief animation!
Children require supervision. The programme is not suitable for children’s birthday parties.
