This film by the Cuban filmmaker Tomás Gutiérrez Alea was restored by Martin Scorsese’s The Film Foundation. Memories of Underdevelopment presents a compelling portrait of Sergio, a young intellectual whose family escaped from Cuba after the Castro-led revolution of 1959.
