New Dutch 2: Circular & Otherwise Absurd Connections

Cinedans 2026: New Dutch 2: Circular & Otherwise Absurd Connections

A solitary woman receives a peculiar gift, a man runs circles through the night with a grotesque erection, and two reborn beings meet to form a deep spiritual bond.

From Persephone reframed as an agent moving between contrasting worlds, to workers bound to repetitive labor and couples drifting out of love, these Dutch shorts reflect on empathy and vulnerability. Together, they explore the fragile balance between life and death, fantasy and human connection, within the insistent cadence of everyday life.

Dance film in the Netherlands continues to thrive! Featuring premieres alongside notable recent works, we invite you to discover the diversity and creative momentum of the Dutch scene in motion.

The program is accompanied by a Q&A with the makers present.
