Peak Everything
Anne Émond / CA, 2025 / 100 min.
Romantic comedy set in a rapidly warming region of Canada. Director Ane Émond shows us a smouldering romance between forty-something climate activist Adam and Tina, who works for a technical helpline. Émond tackles this highly current issue with dry humour and charm.

In spite of a strict regime of physical exercise and antidepressants, Adam – who owns a kennels in Quebec – can’t help despairing at the ever-worsening climate catastrophe.
One evening, in a particularly hopeless mood, he calls the technical support line for his new therapeutic desk lamp by mistake, believing he’s called a crisis helpline. But he’s in luck: Tina, on the other end of the line, is more than happy to talk about something other than how to assemble a lamp.
Prelude
Before Peak Everything, you'll see the short film Wad (5 minutes) by Job, Joris, and Marieke from 2003. This animated short film from the Eye collection tells the story of its creator, Joris Oprins, who spent time on the mudflats of Terschelling with his partner. The wind, the sea, the sand, a dog, and a lone seagull play the leading roles in this comical short film.
