Hein, a dominant successful stockbroker, and Simon, a sensitive variety artiste, undertake a journey to visit their dying father. It turns out he wants to be buried in his beloved Pervola, a mysterious hamlet in the inhospitable deep north of Norway. With their guide, Aapo, they travel overland by sleigh through the snow.
