Italy, around 1900. Deeply religious Agata departs for a chapel in the mountains where miracles are said to happen. On her back her stillborn baby who – according to the priest – will be condemned to remain in limbo because it never lived. Laura Samani’s feature film debut is a grand film about grieving set in the Italian and Slovenian mountains.
When Agata awakes, the child she just gave birth to has already been buried. According to the priest in the fishing village where Agata and her husband live the child will be eternally condemned to limbo because it never took a breath.
