Pixote
Pixote
The subtitle of Pixote, a lei do mais fraco (‘the law of the weakest’), is revealing. The eleven-year-old boy Pixote and his friends are like hunted animals who can only survive through crime in a world without mercy. The film is screened at Eye in a restored version and is introduced by Eye programmer Leo van Hee (in Dutch).

Pixote was restored by The Film Foundation (set up by Martin Scorsese) as part of the World Cinema Project which is mainly focused on restoring non-Western films.
