Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea
Hayao Miyazaki / JP, 2008 / 101 min.
In this Japanese animation masterpiece, five-year-old Sosuke joins forces with a goldfish from the sea that turns into a girl. The songs and drawings are magical.

Sosuke doesn’t think it odd that the goldfish in the sea has a human face. He calls it Ponyo and, suddenly, the fish turns into a girl. Ponyo’s father, an ill-tempered wizard, who has turned his back on humanity, doesn’t approve and fetches his daughter back to the depths of the sea, among the jellyfish. In the meantime, Sosuke does anything he can to see Ponyo again. A magical tunnel offers a solution.
