About De Ontmoeting and AWARE

De Ontmoeting is a talent programme for new filmmakers. Through a series of short films, it gives creators the opportunity to further develop their ideas. By bringing the filmmakers into contact with the industry, this programme offers them the opportunity to expand their network and take advantage of the experience of other film professionals.

AWARE is a collaboration between De Ontmoeting and Eye Filmmuseum’s MovieZone and is looking for underrepresented filmmakers from a 'bottom up' perspective. Within this talent programme, two films are made each year. These are projects with which the participants can build their portfolio and which can serve as proof of concept for a next project or something bigger. In a part-time process of about six months, we work on the development, production and post-production of the short films under the supervision of film professionals.
