Struggling teenager Ayoub from Amsterdam-Noord has to choose between crime and love; in the meantime, he does odd jobs for deranged gangster Kalpa. This debut film by Sam de Jong, himself born and bred in Noord, is a drama, comedy and coming-of-age film all in one.
While attempting in a variety of ways to win Laura’s heart, Ayoub (Ayoub Elasri) meets Kalpa, a big-time criminal with a purple Lamborghini Diablo. Under Kalpa’s influence, Ayoub’s world starts to fall apart: his friends avoid him, his mother kicks him out of the house and his sister doesn't want to see him anymore.
