In 1915, married journalist and suffragette Louise Bryant (Diane Keaton) meets the left-wing idealist John Reed (Warren Beatty) at a lecture, the latter introducing her to the progressive art scene in Greenwich Village in New York. Reed reports on the early days of the Bolshevik Revolution, however for a long time, tempestuous politics and Reed’s unshakeable faith in the left drive the lovers apart.
Newly restored by Paramount for its 40th anniversary. Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro (Apocalypse Now, Novecento) approved this 4K restoration from the original camera negative using a vintage print from Paramount’s vault for the final grading.
