To celebrate Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, the 10th edition of SAIL promises to be a truly extraordinary event. The river IJ will serve as the backdrop for no fewer than 10,000 ships from over 20 countries. The Sail-Out Parade on Sunday, August 24th is one of the undisputed highlights.
Ships, crews, and visitors from all over the world come together to celebrate maritime history and diverse cultures. From international Tall Ships to charming salon boats, and from naval vessels to the Dutch Fleet. Eye’s iconic museum building offers a stunning view of the boats, ships, and Tall Ships as they leave Amsterdam during the Sail-Out Parade between 14:00 and 19:00.
Book a delicious lunch on the terrace or in the restaurant. If you don't want to have lunch but still wish to watch the Sail-Out Parade from Eye, you can do so with a film or exhibition ticket. You can order drinks and snacks at the bar, you can sit on the stairs inside and there are standing tables. The terrace is only accessible with a lunch booking.
On this day, Eye is only accessible with a lunch reservation, film or exhibition ticket between 10:00 and 22:00.
