Cinedans 2026: Short Docs 2: Old New Tales
From the origins of samba in Brazil to bubbling (a spirited expression of Caribbean culture in the Netherlands), and from the violent streets of Colombia to the escape of an Indigenous man from an oppressive white city in Australia, these short documentaries trace stories of resilience and claims to joy.

Coming together to dance becomes a way of facing the violence, practicing spirituality, healing and resistance, while paying tribute to both past and future.
For the first time, Cinedans presents the International Short Docs Competition. Addressing some of the most pressing matters of our times. 12 films from 11 countries use the moving body to bring urgency, reflection and emotional immediacy to the big screen.
The program is accompanied by a Q&A with the makers present.
