Songs of Earth
Margreth Olin / NO, 2023 / 90 min.
Icy blue glaciers, clattering waterfalls and whispering green deciduous trees provide the backdrop for this nature film. Margreth Olin returns to her place of birth, the magical Norwegian valley Oldedalen for a loving ode to both this majestic environment and her parents.

Olin’s parents are still deeply in love with one another after all these years. Her now 84-year-old father Jørgen has been wandering what is referred to as Norway’s most beautiful valley his entire life. He brought his young daughter with him on his treks during which they discussed all sorts of things. Today, he also acts as his daughter’s wise guide taking her on every one of his walks through this magnificent landscape for an entire year.
