Tardes de soledad
Albert Serra / ES, FR, PT, 2024 / 126 min.
Hypnotic, poetic documentary on the art of bullfighting, personified by toreador Andrés Roca Rey, a huge celebrity in Spain. Serra follows him during the course of one day. On the confrontation between man and beast, and the balance between life and death.

In his latest film, Albert Serra – subject of an exhibition in Eye last year – delves into the passion and the pain of the matador, the graceful performer of the ancient but controversial art of bullfighting.
On May 3 Albert Serra was present for a Q&A after a screening of the film. See here for a recording of the conversation.
