The Crucified Lovers

The wife of an artisan is accused of having committed adultery with her husband’s apprentice. When the two are sentenced to death, they realise how strong their love is. Akira Kurosawa  regarded the  poignant film as a ‘great masterpiece that could only have been made by Mizoguchi’.

The 4K restoration of The Crucified Lovers was done by Kadokawa Corporation and The Film Foundation in association with The Japan Foundation
