The Dead Nation
Radu Jude / RO, 2017 / 83 min.
Director Radu Jude already touched on antisemitism in his fictional films Aferim! and Scarred Hearts. In The Dead Nation he directly confronts the antisemitism in Romania. That is to say: the documentary, based on old photographs that might just prove puzzling dislodged from their context, reveals its horrendous content especially through the audio tape.
Director Radu Jude is present at the screening ofThe Dead Nation on 12 January and will be interviewed by film journalist Andrei Gorzo afterwards.
