Kaouther Ben Hania’s movie relates the final hours in the life of a six-year-old girl, Hind Rajab, in Gaza. The director mixes original sound recordings with fiction to tell this heartrending story.
Hind Rajab is a name the world will not easily forget. On 29 January 2024, this six-year-old girl was in a car which was fired on by soldiers of the IDF, the Israeli armed forces. The people in the car called the Red Crescent in an attempt to stop the shooting. After a while, the voices went quiet – all except for Hind Rajab’s. The emergency services tried everything, but in vain – the shooting didn’t stop.
