This Is Spinal Tap
Rob Reiner / US, 1984 / 82 min.
In this hilarious spoof rockumentary, Rob Reiner is a filmmaker who follows an American tour by fictitious hard rock band Spinal Tap. In memoriam Rob Reiner.

As their tour disintegrates into disaster, the ever-chipper hard rockers are sympathetically revealed to be complete losers. 'A convincing epitaph for the genre', according to Dutch national newspaper Het Parool. At the same time, Reiner’s film is an absolute must-see for lovers of hard rock clichés and metal subcultures (‘My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo, I wanna sink her with my pink torpedo’).
