Tussen broers
Tom Fassaert / NL, BE, 2026 / 106 min.
Two brothers’ tragi-comic experiences searching for their father who disappeared. An exceptionally moving documentary about what it means to be brothers – mutual friction providing unexpected latitude. Can you really put the weight of family history behind you?

In Tussen broers filmmaker Tom Fassaert follows his father Rob and the latter’s older brother René. After their mother’s death, the brothers decide to go in search of their father who abandoned them as young children and disappeared without trace. Their road trip takes in archives, landscapes and conversations that gradually reveal more than mere facts. The brothers’ relationship changes during the trip and their shared past gains new meaning.
