Shô Miyake / JP, 2025 / 89 min.
Li, a Korean screenwriter working in Japan, is struggling with a creative block. One day, she decides to travel to a snow-covered village, embarking on an unexpected journey.

In the summer, two strangers—Nagisa, a young woman from the city, and Natsuo, a man visiting his relatives— meet by the sea, where they share awkward yet calm and tender moments together. In the winter, Li, a Korean screenwriter living and working in Japan, travels to a snow-covered village to escape from her creative block. There, she stays at a desolate guesthouse run by the enigmatic Benzo, and the unlikely duo embark on an unexpected journey. Two Seasons, Two Strangers, which won the Golden Leopard at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival, gently explores the quiet joy of travelling and the subtle beauty found in stepping outside one’s routine. Through moments of stillness, simple dialogue, and the serene landscapes of rural Japan, the film invites us to open our senses and minds through fleeting encounters with strangers.
