Unisons of Life
Cinedans 2026: Unisons of Life
In this program of film adaptations of performances, the focus is placed on the power of groups and on movements that generate a sense of unison with life’s forces.

In Forest, a new generation of Rosas dancers attunes itself to the scenes depicted in artworks at the Louvre, while Maldonne follows a group of women whose collective movement ignites a revolt driven by positive rage. In the speculative world of The Oath, systems of collective motion come to the forefront - whether in pursuit of purpose or pleasure - while the poetic What Remains takes us to the edge of a lifeline, suspended between beginning and end. The program features work by renowned choreographers, including Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker and Annie-B Parson.
Programme
The Oath (Dir: Alla Kovgan | Chor: Annie-B Parson | US | 2025 | 24' | Dutch Premiere)
In a vivid universe of colour, seventeen women embody our human impulse to move as one — to bond, to battle, to intimidate, to gather, to promise, to dance.
What Remains (Dir: Zoë Demoustier, Michiel Venmans, Jonathan Van Hemelrijck | Chor: Zoë Demoustier | BE | 2025 | 13' | Dutch Premiere)
At the edge of a lifeline between childhood and old age, a man struggles to escape his bitter reality.
Maldonne (Dir: Leïla Ka, Josselin Carré | Chor: Leïla Ka | FR | 2024 | 15' | Dutch Premiere)
A silent uprising. Eleven women shed sorrow for strength through movement, forming a collective pulse that is fierce and free.
Forest (Dir: Evi Cats | Chor: Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Némo Flouret | BE | 2025 | 44' | Dutch Premiere)
Inside the Louvre, a choreography by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Némo Flouret resonates with the past and present embedded in centuries-old artworks.
