Water Children
Aliona van der Horst / NL, 2011 / 75 min.
Dutch filmmaker Aliona van der Horst followed the trail of the ingenious Dutch-Japanese pianist Tomoko Mukaiyama, who produced a major installation on the theme of fertility. Using thousands of little white dresses, she created a cathedral-like space, one in which visitors, men and women, were able to wander, become still and meet on a very personal level, as in a ritual. The evening is organized on the occasion of Mūbii Japan, EYE’s Japanese film programme. Van der Horst will attend the screening.
