Werner Herzog – Radical Dreamer
Thomas von Steinacker / DE, GB, 2022 / 102 min.
Werner Herzog is a phenomenon. The director of unforgettable classics about small people with huge desires, a filmmaker who always emphasises nature’s dominance over man, in short a cult figure. Thomas von Steinacker filmed a moving portrait of "the last German Romantic".

Werner Herzog shot his first, short film in 1962, using a camera stolen from Munich’s film school; his latest production is nigh upon us. Werner Herzog (1942) will keep shooting until his dying breath and what drives him to do so is what Von Steinacker tries to capture in his portrait of this phenomenon.
The English subtitled version of the film is the festival-version of 102 minutes. Eye shows the shorter regular version of 90 minutes with only Dutch subtitles as well.
Werner Herzog - Radical Dreamer is released in national cinemas by Eye.
