In the impressive opening scene of Whitetail, we witness a tragic event in the life of young Jen: in the beautiful woods of southern Ireland, where she’s roaming with her brand new love Oscar, a deer hunt culminates in a severely traumatic event.

Years after this devastating incident, we get to know Jen as an adult. Lonely and emotionally blunted, she’s living a withdrawn life as a forester; but everything changes when after many years Oscar comes into her life again, forcing Jen to review her suppressed trauma.
