Yannick
Quentin Dupieux / FR, 2023 / 67 min.
Hilarious satire from the master of absurdity Quentin Dupieux about a play’s audience member who is so incensed by its mediocrity that everyone hostage and re-writes and directs the piece. Screening accompanies Dupieux's latest film Daaaaaalí.
Quentin Dupieux wrote Yannick in just six days and filmed it in secret, but you can’t tell from the results. His art world and class society satire starts with the audience of the play 'Le Cocu', clearly a mediocre French farce. There is some light chuckling, but there is one audience member who feels increasingly awkward: Yannick, a young traffic warden.
