Programme
Il capo (IT 2010) 15’
A wonderful sign language has sprung up in the quarries of Carrara. In a science-fiction landscape, a man directs a mechanical arm towards the marble. Episode from the three-part series The Malady of Iron.
San Siro (IT 2014) 26’
Anatomical examination of the football stadium where Milanese football clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan play their home games. With military precision, cameras follow the preparations on match day, resulting in a highly detailed architectural – almost anatomical – portrait of an arena. Episode from the series The Root of Evil.
The Challenge (IT/FR 2016) 69’
Ancarani crisscrosses the Persian Gulf with a falconer, on their way to a major competition. In a succession of fascinating images, Ancarani provides access to a bizarre, secret world of surrealistic luxury: falcons, sheikhs, Ferraris and cheetahs.
