John Sturges / US, 1954 / 81 min.
Western and film noir? John Sturges proves it can be done. WOII veteran John J. Macreedy investigates a mysterious disappearance in a small, suspicious, anti-communist Arizona town. With Spencer Tracey, Lee Marvin and Anne Francis.

Black Rock, Arizona. The western town under the desert sun is startled when John J. Macreedy (Spencer Tracey) gets off the train. The one-armed World War Two veteran is looking for Komoko, the father of a fallen comrade of Japanese-American heritage.
