De Schatten van de Krim
Oeke Hoogendijk / NL, 2022 / 82 min.
Exhaustive documentary about the restitution of Crimean art treasures. The ancient collection has become the hot potato in contemporary global politics. From the director of Het Nieuwe Rijksmuseum and Housewitz.

For six years now, objects from the travelling exhibition ‘De Krim – Goud en geheimen van de Zwarte Zee’ [Crimea – gold and secrets of the Black Sea] have been held in the cellars of the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam. The exhibition, which opened in March 2014, was closed after a month because Crimea was annexed by Putin. The objects have been stateless since.
