Moving portrait of a woman who thinks she recognises the person who betrayed her murdered daughter. Mitra alternates between the Iranian Islamic Revolution and the woman's current life in the Netherlands. Will she ever be able to leave her history behind?

37 years after her daughter Mitra was murdered in Iran, Haleh (Jasmin Tabatabai) leads a quiet, successful life in the Netherlands. All is upended when she suspects that Leyla, who betrayed Mitra, turns up. The woman has only recently moved to the country and is herself a loving mother. She doesn’t seem to recognise Haleh; so is it Leyla? Haleh with help from her brother Mohsen (Mohsen Namjoo), tries to find out.
