Stellet licht
Carlos Reygadas / MX, FR, NL, DE, 2007 / 127 min.
Carlos Reygadas (Post Tenebras Lux) filmed a magical love story in achingly beautiful and precise shots. The story is set in an insular Mennonite community in northern Mexico. Silent Light won the Jury Prize at Cannes.

Reygadas presents the struggle of a married man as he falls in love with another woman. The father of six tries to resist his feelings. Should he betray his wife or sacrifice his true love? He belongs to a community of Mennonites, originally Dutch Protestants from Friesland who still live according to the standards and values of a very traditional faith.
