In this epic conflict drama, a pacifist is forced to constantly weigh his principles against the harsh realities of war. Over almost ten hours, The Human Condition follows well-meaning but naïve Kaji, played by Japanese superstar Tatsuya Nakadai, as he develops from labour camp guard to soldier in the Imperial army to Soviet prisoner of war.
