Imagine - World of Darkness

What is World of Darkness? Why did it shake the whole RPG industry? This in-depth documentary aims to answer those questions.

White Wolf is the company that gave us the most developed vampire mythology ever in a form of the RPG game Vampire: The Masquerade. Countless spin-offs, companion books, games and novels later the franchise grew into a worldwide phenomenon. What is World of Darkness? Why did it shake the whole RPG industry? This documentary aims to answer those questions.

No other fictional universe built such a steady following than that of the RPG game Vampire: The Masquerade. Moreover, it irreversibly changed the way how vampires are being portrayed in pop culture nowadays. Its influence reaches as far as Underworld, Blade and many other films with a punk/Gothic approach to horror. In the first half of the documentary we get to know key players, historical facts and cultural background, which explains why Vampire was such a breakthrough in the RPG world. But delving deep into internal struggles and ownership issues, this is also a story about the pitfalls of success.
