9th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards

During the ninth Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards, the up-and-coming film talents behind the best Dutch short films will be awarded.

After another season of amazing Weekly Sessionz, it’s time to raise the curtain for the 9th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards. Here, we celebrate the best of Dutch short film talents whose films are nominated for our ten Mr Zee Awards. On top of that, to honour our late ambassador, board and jury member Rutger Hauer, we give the Rutger Hauer Award to a person or institution who has impacted the next generation of Dutch filmmakers.

In this edition, filmmakers and film lovers can listen to wise words from extraordinary guests. This year we can count on some inspiring words from:

Stanley Kubrick & Steven Spielberg’s producer: JAN HARLAN (The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut, A.I.),

Actress HANNA VAN VLIET (ANNE+, Quicksand),

Costume Designer JANY TEMIME (Harry Potter, House of the Dragon, Gravity),

Director BOBBY BOERMANS (Mocro Maffia, High Flyers),

CHRISTOPHER MACK, Director Creative Talent Investment & Development Netflix International Originals EMEA

Film Journalist RENÉ MIOCH will co-host the event.

More epic names will join this lineup. We will keep you informed through our website and social media.

This year, film director MARTIN KOOLHOVEN will receive the RUTGER HAUER AWARD.

This year's Jury Team includes Jany Temime, Charles Mastropietro, Christopher Mack, Eddy Terstall, Hany Abu-Assad, Jan Harlan, Laser 3:14, René Wolf, Marina Blok, Roel Reiné, Sigrid ten Napel, Vincent van Ommen and Willeke van Ammelrooy.
