Aftersun
Charlotte Wells / GB, US, 2022 / 102 min.
This film about a father and daughter who may well be spending their last holiday together made a huge impression in Cannes. 'A devastating debut that develops with the gradually increasing focus of a Polaroid,' according to Indiewire.

Calum, a divorced father in his 30s and his 11-year-old daughter Sophie spend their summer holiday at a Turkish resort. They are true comrades, but Sophie is mainly fascinated by the exciting things the slightly older teens get up to. The footage she shoots with her camcorder – the film is set in the late 1990s – tells part of the story that an adult Sophie reminisces about, years later.
