Andy, bloed en blond haar
Frank Wiering / NL, 1978 / 85 min.
Raw, realist cult film about aggressive Andy from the province of Twente who arrives in Amsterdam, where he meets model Ella. They enter into a stormy, punky relationship with many violent incidents. Andy likes to use a cheese hatchet to give an extra edge to his arguments.

Andy, bloed en blond haar and Cha-cha by Herbert Curiël (NL 1979) are the only two real punk feature films made in the Netherlands. As early as 1979, film journalist Hans Beerekamp wrote in the NRC newspaper that Andy, bloed en blond haar, ‘with its sensitive finger on the fashionable pulse of violence and decadence’, could just become the first Dutch cult film. ‘Seldom has a Dutch film met with such a controversial reception’.
