Artist Talk: Garrett Bradley
An evening on the work of American artist Garrett Bradley to whom Eye has dedicated an exhibition. Bradley also won the Eye Art & Film Prize. Guest of the evening Rebecca Matalon is a senior curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. With film excerpts and a screening of Bradleys 'America' (2019).

Garrett Bradley is an American artist, lecturer and Oscar nominated filmmaker. Her feature films, documentaries and experimental films revolve around repression, memory, race, class, family ties, social justice and the socio-political history of the USA.
Guest of the evening is Rebecca Matalon, senior curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston where she organised Bradley’s first solo museum exhibition in 2020 entitled Garrett Bradley: American Rhapsody.
Eye Art & Film Prize
Since 2015, Eye has awarded the Eye Art & Film Prize to artists working in the borderlands between art and film. In 2025, Eye will celebrate the prize’s 10tth anniversary with a summer exhibition on the work of American filmmaker and artist Garrett Bradley.

Eye Filmmuseum presents the first European solo museum exhibition by US artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Garrett Bradley. The exhibition invites visitors into her world: a rich blend of engagement and artistic experimentation, in which she critically examines (film) history and image-making from a contemporary perspective. In 2023, Bradley was awarded the Eye Art & Film Prize.
