Irene lives with her husband Klaus and her four sons in Petrópolis, a city not far from Rio de Janeiro. The door jars, the tap leaks, but there is no end of love in this slightly chaotic Brazilian household. Their eldest son Fernando is a talented handball player who’s been spotted by a professional German team. He will leave in twenty days, and Irene tries to keep her emotions in check.
