blur: To the End
Toby L. / GB, 2024 / 104 min.
An intimate look behind the scenes of the second comeback by Blur, one of the most influential Britpop bands of the ’90s. Older, wiser, but still passionate, the band prepare for two sold-out performances in London’s Wembley Stadium.
Whipped up and cultivated by the national music press, in mid-’90s Great Britain a fierce competitive rivalry grew up between two bands: Blur and Oasis. The latter quickly fell apart due to quarrels between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher; Blur on the other hand continued to exist, with hiatuses. Following an initial reunion in 2010, a second took place last year in the wake of the enthusiastic reception for their new album, The Ballad of Darren.
