Cinedans - They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
During the Great Depression, contestants of a Hollywood dance marathon are desperately trying to stay in the race and to catch the attention of the master of ceremonies – hoping to be plucked from obscurity and make it big in the film industry. Competition is fierce and the contestants start to become unhinged at the murderous marathon.
American film classic They Shoot Horses, Don”t They? returns to the silver screen at Cinedans. The 1969 drama film directed by Sidney Pollack is based on the novel of the same name by American writer Horace McCoy. The film received nine Oscars nominations, including Best Actress in a Leading Role for Jane Fonda.
