Control
Anton Corbijn / GB, US, AU, JP, 2007 / 120 min.
Anton Corbijn’s feature film debut is a portrait of a man, his band and his native country. In other words: Ian Curtis, Joy Division and England. The man behind the band committed suicide at the age of 23, his band reformed as New Order and England – is still England. Control takes you back to the gritty early 1980s and sheds light on Curtis’s suicide. Noteworthy: the actors themselves performed the music live. New Order contributed to the score.
