Dag van De Korte Film – Kinderprogramma

Dag van De Korte Film 2022: Children's programme

On the shortest day of the year, we celebrate Short Film Day. This week, we will be treating children aged four up to the best European short films. In these films, everything changes: winter changes to spring, a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.

Programme

  • still from Spring Always Comes Back (Alicia Núñez Puerto, ES 2021)

Spring Always Comes Back (Alicia Núñez Puerto, ES 2021, 10')

It’s spring and grandma Margara is teaching her four grandchildren to plant seeds. Three of them decide to set off and discover the world. Years pass, grandma gets older and those who left are present, in their own way. But the spring, yes, the spring always returns.

  • still from A Géométrie variable (Marie Brune De Chassey, BE 2015)

A Géométrie variable (Marie Brune De Chassey, BE 2015, 4')

Children and animals change shape, and so make that feeling visible that you get when you look at yourself in space or when you see yourself through the eyes of someone else.

  • still from Into Spring (Udo Prinsen, NL 2012)

Into Spring (Udo Prinsen, NL 2012, 5')

With their rhythmic drumming, two woodpeckers get spring going.

  • still from Moon Mole (Leonor Pacheco, PT 2022)

Moon Mole (Leonor Pacheco, PT 2022, 3')

A curious mole explores the world around him.

  • still from Lagune (Mathieu Labaye & Hannah Letaïf, BE 2016)

Lagune (Mathieu Labaye & Hannah Letaïf, BE 2016, 6')

A sphinx and a cat chase one another.

  • still from Jusqu'à la lune (Johann Etrillard, BE 2018)

Jusqu'à la lune (Johann Etrillard, BE 2018, 8')

A meeting with a little boy turns the life of a man fascinated by the moon upside down.

  • still from Katu Katu (Giedrė Narušytė Boots, LT 2021)

Katu Katu (Giedrė Narušytė Boots, LT 2021, 6')

A little caterpillar has a cosy nap with his feline friends. A playful ball of wool wakes the caterpillar. Tickling and teasing, the ball awakens the caterpillar’s dream of flying. Live your dreams and you will fly.

  • Flipbook (30', included in the 72-minute running time)

After the film compilation, you can make your own flipbook in the cinema. A flipbook is a book with a small drawing that changes a little on each page. When you 'flip' the pages, the drawings fly by in no time. The separate pictures then seem to become a film. With this flipbook, you actually make your own mini-cartoon!

The Short Film Day programme can also be viewed online via Picl, from 21 through 28 December.
