Through her husband, Johanna, a young, vivacious woman has become embroiled with the so-called Bende van Oss [gang] that meet almost daily in her bar in the industrial town. Led by the violent Wim de Kuiper, the gang creates a wave of crime and murder. Johanna wants to escape this life of crime and receives aid from an unexpected avenue, the corrupt insurance salesman Harry. However, the harder she tries to leave Oss behind, the more she sinks into a morass of fraud, prostitution and even murder.
