Eliso

Eliso is a wonderfully filmed, historical romantic drama by Georgian director Nikoloz Sjengelaja, about the fate of the Islamic Circassians in the Caucasus and their expulsion to Turkey by the Czarist regime. Eliso, the village elder’s daughter is in love with Christian boy Vajai. He fruitlessly tries to prevent the deportation from the village. A universal story of love between people trapped by religion and victimised by political oppression.

Marmoucha Orchestra was founded by a group of musicians with a passion for the diversity of musical styles and traditions to be found in the Middle East and North Africa, the so-called MENA countries. Marmoucha Orchestra is emphatically for all lovers of good music. Live music touches souls and unites people from around the globe, even in difficult times.

For this performance the ensemble will consist of: Arin Keshishi (bass guitar), Mohamed Ahaddaf (oud), Udo Demandt (percussion), Maripepa Contreras (oboe), Oene van Geel (violin), Franz von Chossy (piano), María Cristina González (flute) and Antonio Moreno Glazkow (trumpet).

Three-course menu

The performance will be held in the wonderful Eye Arena: the audience arranged around the musicians, on the stairs and at tables. This creates a truly collective, shared experience. Tickets include a pre-performance drink.

Before the performance in the Arena, the Eye restaurant offers a vegetarian three-course menu specially composed for this occasion for 35 euros (excluding drinks) from 19:00. Then at 21:30, you can watch the film from your restaurant table. You can buy a ticket for the film, but a separate reservation is required for dinner. Submit your reservation via info@eyehoreca.nl.
