Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s latest is a gentle eco parable with surprising characters. Takumi and daughter Hana live in an idyllic village near Tokyo. The peace and quiet is ruined when a project developer decides to build a glamping site nearby.

Dedicated father Takumi and daughter Hana live in a a little piece of paradise, just outside Tokyo. The villagers live simple lives in harmony with nature. Takumi gets by supplying wood and water to the local noodle restaurant.

Before the screening of Evil Does Not Exist, you will see the short film Tourist Trap from our Korte Film Poule. In this animated film (2') from 2020 by Vera van Wolferen, a Jeep car is looking for a unique holiday location and seems to have found it: a paradise island with unspoiled nature and special tropical birds. But upon arrival, our Jeep discovers that he is not the only adventurer.
