Eye Art & Film Prize
An exclusive Amsterdam Art Week screening
Artist Talk with films by and a conversation with the Indian artist and filmmaker Sohrab Hura, winner of the Eye Art & Film Prize 2025. This evening will also see us announce this year’s winner.

Indian artist Sohrab Hura (1981) is the 11th winner of the Eye Art & Film Prize. Hura was awarded the prize in 2025 for the impressive way in which he has depicted the surreal world we live in. Using photography, film and painting, he examines a plethora of themes from violence, inequality and religion to mental health, his family life and the distortion of reality by the endless stream of digital images.
Hura’s work often combines the personal with a socially conscious perspective. His projects vary from the intimate, vulnerable report on the life of his ill mother to the raw, absurdist depictions of violence and disinformation. He also highlights fractures in Indian society, such as with his poetic photo report on life in the disputed territory of Kashmir. This year, his work was included in the main exhibition ‘In Minor Keys’ at the Venice Bienniale (both at the Giardini and the Arsenale). With thanks to Ammodo Art and Goslings Film & Art Fonds.
