How far should scientists go in their research? Couple Katia and Maurice risked their lives to study volcanic eruptions all over the world. Following their deaths, director Sara Dosa made a spectacular montage of the footage shot by the couple.

How close can you get to the source of a volcanic eruption? Married couple scientists Katia and Maurice Krafft risked everything for a better understanding of what drives these explosions of magma and lava; they spent twenty-five years travelling the world taking measurements and making recordings of dangerous volcanoes. In 1991, their research led to their deaths when they were consumed by the fires of the Japanese Unzen volcano.
