As the sixth wife of Anglican King Henry VIII, the Protestant Catharine Parr tries to influence her spouse and, as a result, the rest of the kingdom. When the ill and paranoid Henry returns from a military campaign he increasingly loses his grip on reality and takes his anger out on Protestant radicals.
